Installing Net Extender
Note: If you have access to this link you may not need to use the NetExtender Process.
1. If at any point during this process you see a Warning Message page that says “Your Connection is Not Private” you need to follow the prompts to proceed. The steps will be similar but slightly different depending on your browser.
In Google Chrome you will:
Click on Advanced
Click on Proceed
2. Open a browser(IE, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc) and go to the following url: https://12.188.230.234:4433/
3. You will be asked to login to the page with Insight username and password:
Username = ABCD234 (Your insight Username alone not your email address there will be no @insightchicago.com at the end of the username).
Password = Insight Password
4. Once logged in you will be taken to another page where you can download NetExtender. Click “Download” to download the NetExtender.

Click on Run ME.bat and have them run that file.
5. Run the program to begin the installation. Leave all the options as default and click next until the program is installed. Check the option “Run Netxtender” to open it after it finishes the install.
Connect to the Insight VPN
Launching and running NetExtender:
NetExtender will be blank if this is the first time that the program is running on this computer.
Alternatively, if you already had Netextender installed on your computer and you need to add the Insight VPN settings
Enter the settings as described below
Server = 12.188.230.234:4433 (Make sure you enter a semicolon before the last 4 digits)
Username = ABCD234 (Your insight Username alone not your email address there will be no @insightchicago.com at the end of the username).
Password = Insight Password
Domain = MHMC.org
Click Connect
NetExtender may check for software updates. This is normal DO NOT exit out of the program while it is establishing a connection.
Once connected you will see the following screen. This means you are connected to the VPN.
How to Access New Citrix Environment
Launching Citrix:
Open a browser (Chrome is the recommended browser).
In address bar type the following link:
Type in
Username:
Password
2. Navigating the Citrix Environment:
Once Logged in, The Citrix Application Page will appear
The Icons are as follows
#1 = Home and Favorites tab. Anything you mark as a favorite will appear on this tab when you log in.
#2 = Apps Tab is the list of all applications you have access to. If something is missing you will need to contact IT to request access to it.
#3 Desktop Tab is where all Desktops available for you to remote into are listed.
3. Launching an Application:
Note:- (Application display icon might change. So make sure you look for the application carefully or search with the application name.)
Click on the Apps Icon at the top middle of the screen.
Look at the list of Application Icons displayed to find your desired application.
To search Click on the search bubble on the top right of the screen.
Type in the name of the desired App and hit enter.
4. Launching a Specific Desktop:
Note: (If you are not assigned for any Desktop Application, you will not get Desktop Tab there.)
Click on the Desktop Icon at the top middle of the screen.
Look at the list of Desktop Icons displayed to find your desired Desktop.
To search Click on the search bubble on the top right of the screen.
Type in the name of the desired Desktop and hit enter.
5. Customizing the Home Screen:
Navigate to your desired Application or Desktop and click on the Star in the top left of the Icon Box.
Once an Application or Desktop has been starred it will appear on the home screen.
6. To Launch an Application:
Click on the Desired Icon.
Status Bar should appear to show the status of launching the Application.
7. Installing latest version of the Citrix Client:
Make sure you have the latest Citrix Client Installed.

After Download is complete it should launch and be ready for use.
